NORTHEAST MISSOURI BPAA HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING The United State Bowling Congress has a goal of a day when high school bowling will be available in every state. Under the
guidance of the USBC High School program, varsity high school bowling currently exists in 19 states and at the club level in
another 28 states. Incredible strides have been made since the first high school bowling hit the lanes in the 1930's. In the last
decade, participation in high school bowling has nearly tripled. During the 2007-08 season, more than 52,000 students competed
at 4,656 schools that offered high school varsity bowling competition, continuing a decade-long trend. Thousands of dollars in
scholarship funds are available for high school bowlers.
The Columbia USBC and AMF Town & Country Bowling Center will be sponsoring three co-ed high school teams, Hickman High
School Bowling. Rock Bridge High School Bowling, and Hallsville High School Bowling. The teams will practice and host home events at AMF Town & Country Bowling
Center and a coach will be appointed by the Columbia USBC Association High School Committee. Every student athlete will
incur a one time $50.00 particiation fee that covers a team shirt, awards, coaches mileage and practices.They will need to purchase a United States Bowling
Congress (USBC) sanction card. In accordance with the Missouri State High School Athletic Association, each participating
student athlete will be required to maintain a grade average of 2.50 to be elibible for practice and competitions. Every athlete will
be expected to abide by a strict code of ethics, present himself or herself in a professional manner, and demonstrate superior
sportsmanship. Each athlete will be representing their school or area in a competitive atmosphere and it is imperative that the code
of conduct is upheld prestigiously.
Matches consist of 3 Team games and 2-3 game Baker Matches
